Ferrari fans take note: a new theme park, featuring the desired cars will soon be operating in Spain. The upcoming amusement park will be the second theme park to bear the Ferrari name.
The automaker and PortAventura Entertainment S.A.U recently signed an agreement to build the newest one which is scheduled to open in 2016 and will encompass about 18 and a half acres.
The Ferrari theme park is slated to be a crucial part of the PortAventura resort outside of Barcelona, which attracts about 4 million visitors annually. Ferrari’s first theme park opened in 2010 in Abu Dhabi.
Said to be the biggest indoor theme park on Earth, the successful property boasts the world’s biggest Ferrari gallery and shop along with the world's fastest roller coaster.
Although the Spanish park will only be about a third of the size as the one in the UAE, plans for it include the highest and fastest vertical accelerator in addition to a five star, 250-room hotel that will be made to replicate a Formula 1 front wing.
The CEO of Ferrari Brand commented ‘it is a very solid plan developed by competent people that will bring the magic of Ferrari to Spain, a nation where we have many supporters and enthusiasts…Ferrari Land will delight the whole family and not just Formula 1 fans.”
