Countdown begins to the upcoming Iranian New Year or Nowruz as it is known here in Iran. With less than one week to go, the whole country has started preparations for the big day. Each and every province is waiting to host tourists from far and away.
Yazd Province is right in the centre of Iran and known to have the most friendly and loveable people in the country. Marco Polo visited Yazd in 1272 and described it as a good and noble city mentioning its silk production industry. The Jaameh Mosque is one of the top attractions, crowned by a pair of minarets, the highest in the nation. The Dowlat-Abad gardens are absolutely breathtaking. The desert of Yazd will leave you speechless - the images speak for themselves. It is also a great centre for dried fruits and sweets and the delicious local food will have you lick your fingers. There is surely something for everyone here!
