Stakeholders from across the FATA in a round-table urged federal government to hold LG elections in FATA without any delay. Round table on "FATA Local Government" was organized by FATA Research Center Islamabad here at a local hotel in Peshawar.
Politicians, lawyers, journalists, bureaucrats, retired army officials and social and political activist hailing from FATA attended the round table. Fruitful consensus was made on the significance, structure and power & functions of proposed Local Body regulation for FATA.
The views of FATA stakeholders on proposed FATA LG would be presented in the quarterly research study of FATA Research Center that would be published at the end of March 2014.
