The famous Notre Dame Cathedral in the French capital Paris is lit up with a new set of LED lights, giving it a fresh look of artwork.
Designers say the new lighting system brings many parts of the church out of the shadows that tourists, church-goers and priests struggled to see before. The lights were supplied and fitted by a Dutch company. Chandeliers now carry LED bulbs making stained glass windows come to life, no matter what time of day it is. The lights can also be dimmed to blend in with different events taking place there. The famous cathedral hosted more than thirteen million visitors last year.
