You would probably expect to pack on some pounds after eating only fast food for an extended period of time. However a man in Iowa is looking pretty good after being solely on McDonald’s diet for 6 months.
John Cisna, who works as a high school science teacher, decided to take part in the McDonald’s diet as part of an experiment. The new eating habits kicked off on September 15th. On that date, Cisna weighed 280 pounds.
As part of the project, Cisna ate a total of 2 thousand calories per day; all of which came from the restaurant chain. He went by the daily recommended allowances for proteins, fat, sugar and carbs.
As far as exercise goes, Cisna walked 45 minutes a day. The experiment paid off. Thus far, he’s lost 56 pounds. 21 inches from his chest, waist, and hips have melted off.
Overall, he's healthier too. Cisna’s cholesterol levels are lower than when he started the experiment. Cisna’s McDonald’s journey comes to an end on March 15th.
Said Cisna "I am craving seafood. In fact, my first night when I am done with this, I’m going to have some shrimp and some scallops and some salmon. Maybe some asparagus on a bed of rice pilaf."
