Mass demo over Spain abortion plan

At least ten thousand turned out for this protest in Madrid against plans to tighten up Spanish laws on abortion.
The move to allow terminations only in cases of rape or endangerment of the mother's health have sparked outrage.
(SOUNDBITE)(Spanish) MARIPAZ PARRILLA, PROTESTER, SAYING:
"They're taking away all our rights and, above all, the right to decide over our own bodies. Gallardon's law wants to take women back 40 years to the Franco era and we won't allow it."
At the moment Spanish law allows abortion up to the 14th week of pregnancy or up to 22 weeks in cases of foetal deformities.
If it's enacted the proposed new rules would make Spain one of the most restrictive nations in Europe on abortion.
It was proposed by the prime minister in an apparent attempt to rally core conservative support.
It's unleashed a backlash within the country as a whole, and within his own party where moderate members are opposing any change to existing legislat
