Isolated incidents of violence continue to erupt in Venezuela.

In Caracas, small groups of anti-government protesters clash with riot police.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED ANTI-GOVERNMENT PROTESTER SAYING:

"Here are the people who are fighting for a better future because in Venezuela there is no future and we need real change and unfortunately this is the only resource we Venezuelans have today to say we have some dignity."

Ongoing protests are demanding the resignation of President Nicolas Maduro.

A separate demonstration, dubbed the "Protest of the Empty Pots" was making noise against high inflation and food shortages.

A line of riot police moved with the demonstrators as they made their way to the Food Ministry.

Protesters shouted and scuffled with police, but theses demonstrations remained peaceful in comparison.
