Ukraine's former prime minister has urged the West to increase pressure on Russia to withdraw its troops from the autonomous crimea region.
Yulia Tymoshenko said Ukraine cannot enter any negotiations with Moscow while Russian troops are pointing guns at its soldiers. She made the comments in Dublin at the congress of the center-right European People's Party. Tymoshenko also called on Europe to act to repel what she called Russian aggression. Tymoshenko, who has become one of the symbols of the pro-West movement in Ukraine, is one of the favorites for leadership in her country. Ukraine’s presidential election is to be held later this year.
