STORY: North Korea's state-run television KRT late on Wednesday (March 5) broadcast video footage of leader Kim Jong Un watching an artillery unit conduct a shooting contest.

In the video, Kim was seen looking through binoculars, accompanied by high-ranking military officers.

KRT said the visit to the artillery unit was filmed during Kim's trips to several military units in the country between January and February 2014.

On Tuesday (March 4), North Korea fired additional short-range missiles into the sea off the east coast of the Korean peninsula using a new multiple rocket launcher, South Korea's defence ministry said. It was the third time in less than a week that the North had conducted missile launches.
