To give its employees a unique opportunity for relaxation and inspiration, Twitter is going back to simpler times.

To give its employees a unique opportunity for relaxation and inspiration, Twitter is going back to simpler times.

They’re building two log cabins in the new San Francisco headquarters.

Rather than dining in an enormous, open hall, employees will have the opportunity to eat and hang out in the rustic, smaller, and more intimate buildings.

The 19th century structures were procured via Craigslist by the man responsible for many of the other unique interior features at the company.

As he’s already installed reception desk make of repurposed wood, he thought the cabins would be a good addition.

The person who seems the most surprised by Twitter’s purchase of them log buildings is the individual who put them up for sale.

He said he bought them in Montana a while back, thinking that somebody might have a purpose for them someday, but wasn’t convinced that would actually ever happen.

After he was convinced that the call from Twitter wasn’t a prank, he got to work making their move possible.

The two cabins have been disassembled and transported and will be rebuilt on the 13th floor of Twitter’s new office building.
