The Syrian Army is keeping up with its fight against foreign-backed insurgents throughout the country.
Troops drove out crowds of militants in the eastern city of Deir al-Zour, killing a number of them and confiscating their weapons. The soldiers also managed to destroy a terrorist hide-out in Syria’s second largest city of Aleppo. Similar operations were conducted in Homs countryside. The army gains came after insurgents from the notorious al-Qaeda-linked group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant destroyed a Sufi shrine near the city of Qamishli in the north.
