Australian scientists in Tazmania are getting a good peek of the lives of little penguins. That's because the number of the smallest penguin species have been fluctuating there over the last ten years.

Little Penguins are actually the smallest of the penguin species, and often referred to as Fairy Penguins. They aren't the average penguin that you see at the zoo. A typical one of these small creatures will grow to around 30 centimetres in height, and weigh up to one-and-a-half kilograms. Conservationists are keeping a close watch on the birds nesting in this area. It's believed that by following a few guidelines, people can be good neighbours for these cute Penguin.
