Bullets fly in Syria, gov't says 175 rebels killed
  • 10 years ago
New video purports to show rebels fighters battling Syrian government forces in Damascus and Aleppo.

Reuters cannot independently verify the content of the video.

Meanwhile, Syrian state TV reports that 175 rebel fighters were killed in an ambush by pro-Assad forces.

They said the majority of the rebel forces were foreigners and that the ambush occured on the eastern outskirts of Damascus.

The gunfire and explosions throughout the country were in stark contrast to President Bashar al-Assad's meeting with Iranian officials.

More than 136,000 thousand have reportedly been killed in a civil war that is just weeks away from its three-year anniversary.

All of this, as the bullets continue to fly.
