After what seems like endless snow fall the past few days across the New York and New Jersey region, many businesses and homeowners are facing hazards as a result.

A CVS located in the Bronx was recently evacuated. The problem was that heaps of heavy snow had collected on the roof, causing it to collapse.

The Fire Department for the city of New York was called in for help. Fortunately no one inside the store at the time of the occurrence was injured.

However it turned out to be a disaster in terms of damage. After the roof gave in, water sprinklers that were installed in the ceiling burst and flooded the entire business.

Eighty percent of the roof was a complete loss, but really, it didn’t matter because in the end the structure had to be demolished. An exterior wall that was cracked and bulging outwards affirmed the decision to raze the building.

A CVS spokesperson revealed their pharmacy operations were transferred to a nearby branch on Allerton Avenue, so customers of the now non-existent location wouldn’t be without their medications.

Heavy snow is proving to be a danger in several surrounding areas, causing numerous collapses in homes, a school, a restaurant and a tennis center.
