Twin bomb blasts have rocked the Lebanese capital Beirut, killing at least five people and leaving scores of others injured.
The bombs went off near the Iranian cultural center in the southern Be’r Hassan neighborhood. The Kuwaiti Embassy is also located in the same area. Security sources say the bombs appear to have been planted on a car and a motorcycle. The al-Qaeda-linked Abdullah Azzam Brigades has claimed responsibility for the blasts. The group has been behind previous bomb attacks in Beirut, including the deadly one that targeted the Iranian Embassy back in November.
