Instagram: good for many things, not just for clips of your pet doing weird sh*t or photos your breakfast hipsterized with an annoying filter.
No, sir. For a growing number of enterprising young Insta-babes are using the image sharing service as a platform from which to launch careers in modelling and fashion design, collecting deals and fat cheques in the process along with not a small number of strange Indian men who spell sexy with an "i".
Take 23-year-old Renee Somerfield of Sydney, Australia who plans to parlay her internet fame into a line of swimwear. Her hundreds of photos and nearly half-a-million followers landed her a photo shoot in lad's magazine Maxim and national recognition (among a certain demographic).
Renee and her peers, like Ellie Gonsalves, another Australian model come in the well-shaped mould of US instagram star Jen Selter, the 20-year-old from New York whose gym selfies which feature her nearly impossibly rounded butt have won her nearly 2 million fans on the site, among them Rihanna, for some reason.
