A protest love story in Kiev

As guests arrive - flowers in hand - to Kiev City Hall, men in their military fatigues guard the aisle.

Champagne waits to be popped.

And music greets this Ukrainian couple.

The two met during the country's recent unrest and now they're getting married.

Bogdan is a defense fighter and Yulia is a volunteer.

Yulia recalls their first encounter.

(SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) BRIDE YULIA SAYING:

"This is the coolest moment ever. This is destiny. A cupboard fell over me when I was volunteering in the kitchen, it was the act of God. He put a bandage on my hand and we fell in love. At first we thought we would have a quiet, low-key ceremony in a chapel. But that was not to be. We have so many friends. They all knew about it and they organized it all for us. I am shocked and I don't know what to say."

Bogdan can't believe his luck.
