Hollywood's leading stars pay tribute to Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman who was found dead in a New York apartment from a suspected drug overdose.

At the world premiere of "The Monuments Men" in New York, Matt Damon, who appeared with Hoffman in "The Talented Mr. Ripley", called his former co-star a special talent.

SOUNDBITE: Actor, Matt Damon, saying (English):

"He was a really special human being. He was one of the best actors who ever lived without a doubt. And anybody who worked with him felt that, felt grateful for having a chance to work with him. I hope something comes of it somehow, but I can't see how that would be - it just feel like a horrible big black hole."

The actor and director George Clooney said it was tough to be at the premiere in light of Hoffman's passing.
