A conservative committee of parents in Russia is seeking a ban on Mattel’s popular Monster High dolls saying the toys are, “obscenely dressed and represent dead people."

They’d also like to do away with the cartoon series that features the line.

A spokesperson for the group said that the Monster High characters are dangerous to Russia’s youth as they could fill their heads with thoughts of suicide.

After characterizing the toys as zombies and werewolves, he warned, "A child starts playing with death, she gets mesmerised with it and she does not notice the line where she becomes unbalanced and wants to sleep in a similar bed."

He then added that he felt the presence of the dolls could be a national security issue.

As example of the trouble they bring he shared a story about a 7-year-old Monster High fan who started to expressed a desire to wear a black dress and said she’d hurt herself if her doll was taken away from her.

The group is planning to have the toys examined by experts to prove that their claims of danger are legitimate.
