Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed members of the IOC during a ceremony in Sochi on February 4, ahead of the Olympic Games which kick off later in the week. Putin told those gathered that the Olympics had already improved the quality of Sochi. Meanwhile, the Olympic torch continued its journey to Sochi, with volunteers carrying the flame through the city of Krasnodar.
