Allen's lawyer questions timing of sex abuse allegations, Brown stays in rehab

Woody Allen's lawyer defended the filmmaker on Tuesday (February 04) following renewed allegations of sexual abuse by his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow. Allen's rep appeared on U.S. network NBC and questioned the timing of her comments - which have come as the director is being considered for an Oscar for best original screenplay for "Blue Jasmine." Farrow repeated her allegations in a letter published by The New York Times, claiming Allen sexually assaulted her as a child.

Chris Brown was in a Los Angeles court where a judge turned down a prosecutor's motion to jail him because of his arrest on an assault charge in Washington, D.C., last year. The judge said Brown was doing well in a court-ordered substance abuse and anger management program and that it provided the singer with an "adequate safety net."
