The 2014 Dakar begins on January 5 in Rosario, Argentina and will see the competitors complete a brutal race covering 8734km over 14 days.
In the fourth of our Red Bull previews we look at Brit hopeful Sam Sunderland.
It's been a long time since the UK has had a rider winning at the Dakar. 15 years 11 months and two days to be precise when John Deacon won stage 15 of the race onboard a KTM 620. But now there's potential to fill that void.
A Brit on a factory bike who's shown he can run at the very front, taking the scalps of Despres and Coma on the Rally World stage. And he's only 24.
