Divorces can often get ugly. A woman in northern Virginia is now in police custody, accused of running over her ex-husband’s fiancée intentionally.

The suspect, 48-year-old Margaret Henry had been driving a newer model Hyundai when she barreled through a yard in Lorton. The new fiancée and Henry’s ex-husband were standing in the driveway when the car came straight towards them and instantly struck the victim.

The woman was left “entangled in the windshield” of the vehicle but Henry didn’t immediately stop. She drove into a utility trailer before parking in the yard.

The ex-husband was able to restrain Henry while waiting for EMTs and police. Upon arrival, the victim was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, but her injuries were so severe, surgeons were forced to amputate her lower leg.

Henry was arrested and charged with “aggravated malicious wounding”. Cops have launched an investigation into the incident. Detectives obtained a search warrant to collect blood samples from the Hyundai.

Although the motive has not been officially determined, a neighbor told reporters Henry and her ex’s relationship was tumultuous, filled with swear ridden, screaming arguments.
