The state of Florida is in the process of screening applicants for crocodile handling jobs.

If you have a strong desire to jump right into a big reptile situation, using nothing but your impressive human strength to wrestle the critters into submission, don’t bother applying.

It’s really more of diplomat-type position.

With crocodile and alligator populations booming, the animals seem to be popping up all over the place, including back yards and golf courses.

Some people get really excited when they see one lurking around their homes, and not in the elated way.

Much of the job is calming people down, educating them on croc and gator habits, and perhaps offering some tips on how not to attract them.

On occasion there will be some that are posing a serious danger to people. If your solution to a crocodile infestation is to just start shooting, again, don’t apply.

Killing them is illegal in the state of Florida, so at times the job requires their safe capture and relocation.

The job pays 25 dollars an hour and requires no previous experience working with living things that may have the jaw power of a T. rex.
