Today, outdoor kid friendly parks and attractions are usually comprised of heavy duty plastic and metal. A German amusement park, featuring fun tree houses is anything but typical.
The buildings, hand carved from wood can be described as quirky and eccentric. Nestled amongst trees and boulders, the buildings seemingly teeter in the wilderness.
The underlying posts that hold the structures up are bended and the tree houses are colorful and crooked. Given the wood construction and offbeat designs, the park is both nostalgic and fun.
And it's nothing like a bland neighborhood kids park.
Known as Culture Island, the paths getting through the property are equally unique. Rope bridges, bamboo forest-like channels, underground tunnels and ladders mean all visits are memorable for adults, but they also transform the grounds into a makeshift, handcrafted playground for kids.
The most notable aspect is the Treehouse hotel. Comprised of nine single standing tree houses, they each have a differing, magical theme, and are connected via ramps and walkways.
Some of the houses are about 30 feet off the ground, several others are even higher. The complex has a tunnel slide for a quick trip to the ground.
Although the furnishings inside them are minimal, the décor amps up the fun factor.
