Police in Cardiff, United Kingdom were easily able to identify what 30-year-old Alexander Sinclair was behind.

According to reports, Sinclair was recently woken up by police banging on a car window.

The suspect had been passed out behind the wheel of the parked vehicle. The only problem was that the car did not belong to him.

Officers were called to a local residence after a homeowner woke around 6 am and realized his residence had been burgled. His front door was open and his car keys were gone.

The man had stepped outside, fully expecting to see an empty parking spot where his auto was parked, but instead found it with a suspicious man asleep inside.

Sinclair claimed he had spent the night before drinking. He further elaborated saying it started to rain on his walk home so he went in the unknown house and swiped the car keys so he’d get to sleep in a dry place.

Sinclair landed in court for the burglary. There, authorities said Sinclair pulled a similar stunt last year, sneaking into a hotel room to take a nap. He was ordered to attend an “alcohol treatment program.”
