The annual Razi Medical Sciences Research Festival is an event to encourage innovation and research in Iran’s medical sciences. The festival was founded in 1995 after the name of the great Iranian physician, chemist, pharmacist, and philosopher, Razi who lived in the 9th century A.D. This year, the 19th festival was held to honor its winners during a ceremony held in the Iranian capital, Tehran. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the vice-president for Research and Technology and the Minister of Health and Medical Education attended the ceremony held in Tehran’s Shahid Beheshti University. Winners were selected from different Iranian universities and were awarded in different categories including medical nanotechnology, psychology and psychiatry, pharmaceutical sciences, and dentistry.
