Actress Jennifer Lawrence was left disappointed after landing an on-screen kiss with Christian Bale. The actress stars opposite the Batman hunk in David O. Russell’s new film “American Hustle,” and the pair shares a kiss in the movie. But Lawrence was reportedly surprised when she realized Bale had been piling on the pounds for the movie. Director Russell recalls Lawrence’s reaction following the kiss, telling Us Weekly the actress remarked on set, “I finally get to kiss Christian Bale and he’s a really fat guy.” Lawrence also reportedly joked, “He’s fatman, not Batman.”
Richard Linklater is returning to the Sundance Film Festival. The director and Sundance mainstay, who last year brought Before Midnight to the festival, will unveil Boyhood at this year's incarnation. The festival announced that it will host special preview screenings of the film Jan. 19 at the Eccles Theatre. With the addition of Boyhood, the 2014 festival will present 121 feature-length films, representing 37 countries and 54 first-time filmmakers, including 35 in competition.
Sure, Amy Adams won a well-deserved statuette at the 71st Annual Golden Globes on Sunday. But its seems everyone can't stop talking about her plunging halter dress by Valentino. After walking away with the Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical prize for her memorable performance in American Hustle (which also featured quite a bit of cleavage-baring on Adams' part), the actress was, once again, asked about the revealing gown. When the subject of double-stick tape came up backstage, Adams shared that she actually wasn't wearing any.
In theaters since late November, Disney's seasonal animated film Frozen has finally earned the title of highest-grossing film at the worldwide box office for the weekend ending January 12, bringing in $42.87 million across 51 countries, according to Rentrak.
