A woman in Sarasota, Florida claimed she found the skull of a bird in her store bought bag of frozen spinach.
There are some birds one expects to find on their dinner plate. As for most of the other ones, well, that’s not so much the case.
Case in point – a woman in Sarasota, Florida who claimed she found the skull of a bird in her store bought bag of frozen spinach.
Madeline Brogan made the shocking discovery while preparing a dish for a New Year’s celebration. Brogan opened up the bag and began draining it, when she noticed something hard and unusual in the leaves.
Then unaware of what it was, she left it in the sink to thaw. After some time passed, she took a second look and realized the then thawed piece was a bird’s skull.
Elaborating on the discovery, she said “There's an eye missing out of it. I would expect a bug, or a natural part of something that grows on the ground, even a pebble or a stick, but not a bird.”
Brogan contacted her local Publix store, from where the bag was purchased. She was given a refund and the company’s Corporate Quality Assurance team is reportedly investigating the incident.
