South Sudan army claims capture of oil hub
  • 10 years ago
Government forces in South Sudan have regained a northern town held by rebels loyal to former vice president Riek Machar.

They have recaptured Bentiu, in Unity state, which is an important oil producing region.

And the president's spokesman says the government might use the airforce and regional troops to make further gains, if necessary.

Al Jazeera's Haru Mutasa reports from Unity State.
