Recently a wannabe thief, who tried to hold up a bank in Antioch, California was forced to walk away empty-handed after the bank teller was unable to read his handwriting.

It all started when the man, later identified as 29-year-old Jamal Garrett, entered the Wells Fargo business at a little before 10 on a Monday morning. He walked up to the teller and handed over the apparently poorly written note that demanded money.

Garrett never said a word while she attempted to decipher the writing. Eventually the baffled bank worker contacted her manager for help.

Realizing things didn’t work out the way he planned, Garret quietly exited the bank through the back door. The police arrived and took a report.

Later, cops were sent to a nearby town center after calls came in regarding an unwanted guest. When officers responded, they found Garret as the unwelcome suspect. They also noticed he matched eyewitness descriptions of the bank robber.

Garret was later positively identified as the culprit. He was arrested and charged with attempted robbery.
