Suspected WWII Bomb Explodes, Kills Construction Worker

Recently a German man who had been working on a construction site in the town of Euskirchen was killed after when a WWII bomb exploded.
Although World War II is long over, the aftermath is still taking lives. Recently a German man who had been working on a construction site in the town of Euskirchen was killed after what police suspect was a WWII bomb, exploded.
Numerous other workers were injured in the blast, 2 of whom were reported to be in serious condition. According to reports, a bulldozer somehow struck the bomb causing it to go off.
The man who was killed had been responsible for operating the piece of heavy equipment. The explosion occurred on a property, which was used for housing construction rubble for recycling purposes.
It wasn’t just the site that was affected either, surrounding homes encountered damages from the blast. Undetected bombs are common throughout Germany.
It’s so bad that many construction companies hire bomb disposal teams to inspect properties before starting a job, to ensure workers are safe. Speaking of the most recent, fatal incident, a police authority stated “We can be lucky this hasn't happened earlier.”
In November 2013, approximately 20,000 people were forced out of their homes in the German city of Dortmund after a 4,000-pound Allied bomb was discovered. Thankfully, authorities were able to diffuse it, preventing any injuries.
