Staggeringly prolific Adrian Schubert was not a bandleader in the usual sense, since he rather was a musical director, working with dozens of outfits under equally numerous pseudonyms, merely for recording purposes. He did hire many top musicians though (trumpeter Mike Mosiello, trombonist Tommy Dorsey, saxophonist Jimmy Dorsey, clarinetist Benny Goodman, multi-instrumentalist Andy Sannella, percussion virtuoso George Hamilton Green and violinist and vocalist Scrappy Lambert, etc). This great record was made in 1928. Vocal by Irving Kaufman.

So true Jack; this song is hardly ever heard, but we are lucky Irving is doing the vocal since it fits him like a glove :-) He does remind Jolson, but in my opinion he is almost equivalent to the latter.

Yes, Genia, I read about the polar weather conditions in the US... here it is just the opposite, windy, rainy and way too warm for the season. I'm glad this catchy song perked you up!

Thanks. Enjoyed the video and great period song. Vocal made to order for Irving Kaufman. I often think of him as the poor man's Al Jolson.
