Winter storm sparks travel nightmare

Hardly a welcome sight for travelers at New York's LaGuardia Airport. Long lines, canceled flights, and hundreds of people stranded in the season's first winter storm.

SOUNDBITE: RAMONA, TRYING TO FLY TO ATLANTA, SAYING:

"I'm trying to get back to Atlanta. My flight was canceled yesterday, last minute. So now they have me going from here to Miami just to get back to Atlanta. And hopefully, I'll get back there at 9 o'clock tonight."

Travelers are being forced to wait it out as thousands of flights have been canceled or delayed in the Northeast.

Crews are working around the clock to clear the runways after the fierce winter storm dumped heavy snow on the region.

For some, it's been a frustrating wait with no end in sight.
