The newest pooch quickly climbing in internet popularity is a minuscule female teacup Chihuahua named Nellie. She has gained a steady following from Netizens on Instagram.
What makes her story unique is that she was, not too long ago, found abandoned on a Sacramento sidewalk and in very poor health. The city’s SPCA is not only responsible for saving the tiny pooch’s life but also posting the photos on the site, which show Nellie’s recovery progress and her days that are now spent playing and just being happy.
Nellie arrived at the facility when she was 3 weeks old back in September. She only weighed a mere 13 ounces at the time. A foster care coordinator with SPCA took her home, to bottle feed and nurse Nellie back to health.
The pooch now weighs in over 1.5 pounds. Despite a health scare, Nellie bounced right back and receives her favorite meal of meat flavored baby food.
A few noteworthy pics showcasing Nellie’s new life include her investigating a can of soda, standing in a basket full of lemons and her resting with much larger canine pals. A video depicts her aggressive streak, showcasing her nipping and dragging a toy horse.
