A female university student in Taiwan who took a controversial and dangerous approach to pet discipline is now facing animal abuse charges. The woman, Kiki Lin placed her cat in a jar and took photos of the act.

She then posted pictures of the ordeal to Facebook with a comment that noted she had put the feline in the container as a form of ‘punishment’. Once the images went viral and netizens made their outrage known, Lin got quite a bit of publicity, and it certainly wasn’t the favorable kind.

When contacted by news outlets, she gave a different story for the reasoning behind the act stating “I love her so much, and I was just testing out the most convenient method of taking her out. And I only did it once.”

After launching an investigation, authorities charged her with violating the “Animal Protection Law” and have forwarded the file to the District Prosecutor's office.
