It’s a known fact – many people are extremely protective of their animals, but in some cases, owners can get overly protective.
A man in Bhopal, India went a little too far in his efforts to shelter his hen from what he deemed as an unfitting companionship with a rooster. The male, Gyan Singh reportedly picked up his homemade bow and arrow once he spotted the creatures together and shot the rooster.
It all started when the rooster, which belonged to a neighbor, sauntered over onto Singh’s property. Once he spotted Singh’s attractive hen, he waltzed right over to her as part of what Singh thought to be inappropriate poultry flirtation.
After the rooster was wounded, he somehow made it back home. There, the owner swiftly picked the chicken up and brought him to the police station and then to the local clinic.
The outraged neighbor filed a complaint against Singh. Eventually veterinarians were able to successfully remove the arrow. The rooster is now recovering. Singh didn’t get off easily, however – he was booked on mischief causing damage.
