As India develops economically, it is witnessing huge divides in terms of its society. In India, a huge number of groups and sub-groups have been formed based on caste, color, creed and tribes.
Internally, India is widely divided. In most of Indian states, there are secessionist groups demanding separate lands and rights.
The social division has had many repercussions; but the major one is that the country has failed in terms of equal distribution of wealth. To compound the problem, the country is snatching the land and ownership rights of the people just to sign big deals and associations with multinational corporations.
At the moment, most Indians feel betrayed at the hands of their own government.
The crisis is so severe that some areas are not even accessible to the government, because people do not let government forces into the area, which has led to different insurgencies breaking out at the same time.
Thus, there is a high risk that India may disintegrate if it does not attend to all of its ethnicities, something that has been pledged in its constitution.
On this week’s INFocus, we will talk to experts to have their opinions about different types of insurgencies inside India to find out what they think of the country’s future and how it can maintain its regional peace when the internal situation is getting worse.
