A compulsive miser who won’t pay his restaurant bill.
A restaurant owner whose generosity is making him go broke.
A mysterious women who’s determined to make men pay.
A factory owner who sells off his factories at cut-rate prices after a heart attack.
A young woman who has just come into a large inheritance who wants to be loved just for herself.
During the course of a few days, these characters will cross paths. Through their interwoven stories, “Le coût de la vie” tries to identify our personal relationship with money.
Where does our ability to handle money or our casual attitude to it spring from? Why do some people spend in a frenetic way while others cling on to their money as though it were one of the most vital parts of their being?
We think we’re talking about money, but in fact we’re talking about love.
