In a tragic, yet bizarre report, a man from South Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania managed to survive through two car crashes in one day. Right after those accidents, he wrecked his vehicle a third and final time in a collision that proved to be fatal.

In a tragic, yet bizarre report, a man from South Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania managed to survive through two car crashes in one day. Right after those accidents, he wrecked his vehicle a third and final time in a collision that proved to be fatal.

45-year-old Matthew Pope was transported St. Luke's University Hospital following the 3rd crash but he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The last accident occurred in Lower Nazareth Township. He reportedly rear ended a SUV while operating his Saturn.

According to a police spokesperson, the two prior crashes were considered to be hit and runs – Pope being the suspect who caused the wrecks and left the scene. The coroner ruled the cause of Pope’s death as multiple blunt force trauma. The fatality has been ruled accidental.

As for the occupants of the vehicles from the first two crashes, they were reportedly uninjured.The driver who was hit by Pope in the final accident was hospitalized, and their current condition was not known.

Police are still working to determine the sequence of events leading to the third crash, but it was made clear officers were not in pursuit of Pope during the final accident.
