Twelfth Street Rag Dry Throat Five
A Band from Switzerland. It started in 1982, near Geneve, where they came together and over dinner and wine decided to start a band. They called it the Dry Throat Five. Initially to play the music of Jimmy Noone.
The actual founder of te band is Bertrand Reynoud is a music teacher and his love is the music of Jimmy Noone and Johnny Dodds.
Renee Hagman, by profession a instrument repair and salesman can play many instruments. In the band he has an opportunity to play cornet, trombone, clarinet and saxophones and often within the same tune. He is a perfectionist and has the talent to express himself beautifully in this idiom.
The tubaist is a high school teacher, the banjo player a physician and Raymond Graisir plays a percussion set build around a washboard. He studdied classical percussion and makes a living as a piano teacher.
In the 90's the band expanded to six musicians and changed the name to Dry Throat Fellows. In the USA Cd's are produced and available via Stomp Off Records.
