Everybody has some quirky habits, biting lips, tapping fingers, drumming legs and the long list goes on.
A new invention has appeared on Kickstarter for leg drummers in particular.
The wearable contraption not only helps with the habit, reducing that anxiety but it also helps to improve drummers’ musical abilities.
The minds behind the project stated “Traditional instruments can’t be replaced, but they have not kept up with our increasingly mobile, on-the-go lifestyles. We want you to play anywhere, from jamming with friends to performing live on stage.”
Called DrumPants, the kit comes with a control box and sensor strips, which can be programmed to play built-in sounds, about 100 in total. A looping petal system can also be placed into the wearer’s shoe.
Thanks to Velcro strips the drum kit can be harnessed to a body both under and on top of clothing. The DrumPants can be listened to with headphones or for very outgoing players, external speakers may be attached.
In addition to serving as a musical system, the kit can also be programmed to silence a smartphone, control websites like YouTube and Netflix and help with Slide Show presentations with an easy tap on the pants.
What do you think of the DrumPants system?
