Thunder Bay Superior North MP Bruce Hyer was elected as a New Democrat. He left the party over being sanctioned over a vote on the long gun registry where NDP leader Thomas Mulcair whipped the vote, but Hyer had campaigned and was elected promising to vote to repeal the gun control measure.
