Although Twitter can help to boost celebrity status to an unbelievably high level, some are critical of celebs using the social media site. George Clooney recently voiced his concerns over it.

In the December issue of Esquire magazine he bluntly said anyone famous using the site is, in his words, a moron. He further elaborated on why he felt that strongly , claiming celebrities are too quick to pick a fight with someone over nothing or post some drama after having a few drinks, taking a chance of ruining their career.

He stated “I don't understand why any famous person would ever be on Twitter. Why on God's green earth would you be on Twitter? Because first of all, the worst thing you can do is make yourself more available, right?”

He also expressed his thoughts on actors from the Golden Age of Hollywood and how they would have a hard time coping in today’s world, sharing their cherished private times on social media sites.

What do you think about celebs using Twitter, does it help or hurt their careers?
