Thai protesters are not giving up.
It is week two of their demonstrations, and on Wednesday (December 4), some 3,000 marched outside the police headquarters. Authorities have tried to defuse the tensions by letting protesters into the premises of state agencies.
Their numbers have decreased, but the protesters vow to fight on until they bring down Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's government.
The protest leader is calling for a "people's council" to replace the government, but Yingluck says this is unconstitutional.
Out of respect for Thai King Bhumibol's birthday, the protesters will take a pause on Thursday (December 5).
But the campaign will continue after that.
Meanwhile, businesses relying on tourism are seeing a slowdown.
A hotel in Khao San Road, an area popular with backpackers, is facing cancellations.
But Thailand's economy has weathered eight years of periodic unrest, and analysts are not expecting a long-term impact.
