It is with a heavy heart that we have to report that actor, Paul Walker, has lost his life in a very tragic car accident. Walker was leaving a charity event for his organization, Reach Out Worldwide, where he was raising money to support the typhoon relief efforts in the Philippines. According to TMZ, Walker was in the passenger seat of a red porsche that was being driven by his longtime friend and business partner, Roger Rodas. The details of exactly what happened are still being investigated, but at some point Rodas lost control of the vehicle which then hit a tree and caught on fire just moments later. Walker has been shooting Fast & Furious 7 in Atlanta, Georgia and was on a break to spend time with his friends, family and 15 year old daughter over the holiday. Walker has appeared in several notable Hollywood projects throughout the years like Pleasantville, Varsity Blues, and Flags Of Our Fathers. However, he was probably best known for playing the undercover investigator, Bryan O'Connor in the Fast and Furious films. I think it goes without saying that his loss will leave a huge vacancy in a franchise that has known and loved him since his first appearance in the first Fast film in 2001. Walker was currently shooting the seventh Fast and Furious installment, and it is unclear how Walker's death will impact production or the release of Fast and Furious 7 as he wasn't expected to finish filming until December 14th. Walker was recently doing press for his new movie, Hours, which opens on December 13th, and spoke to us about the future of the Fast and Furious franchise. Take a look. So sad. In addition to Hours and Fast & Furious 7, Walker also has the Luc Besson produced Brick Mansions currently in post-production. It's a remake of the 2004 French action film District B13. No release date is currently set for that film.
We are beyond heartbroken at this news, and we of course send our heartfelt prayers and condolences to his friends, family and loved ones. For Clevver Movies, Im Erin Robinson. Thanks for watching.
