If the current concept cars are any indication, what you'll be driving just a few years from now will be dramatically different.

One of the newest vehicle unveilings is the Nissan BladeGlider. The concept model recently premiered at the Tokyo motor show.

The exterior is best described as exceptionally streamlined and modern, bearing a resemblance to a fighter jet. The BladeGlider’s aerodynamic wedge shape is narrow in the front end but expands to about double that towards the back.

The vehicle serves as a glimpse into the future electric cars in the Nissan lineup. According to the company’s Motorsport Innovation director “I think that the excitement of the racing car should be mirrored in the excitement of driving the road car. I think there are elements we can bring from the race track to make these future road cars more exciting, more fulfilling and give greater driving pleasure."

The BladeGlider utilizes two in wheel motors at the back, which reportedly helps to give the driver a sensation like he or she is gliding over the street. The electric three seater’s doors open upwards, making it appear as though the car has wings.

Would you like to take it for a test drive?
