First Friday "First Friday" 1970.Rare US Blues Progressive Hard only 500 copies pressed.First Friday formed in autumn of 1968 at the University of Notre Dame. They practiced in the basement of Dillon Hall, where they found a stack of blank posters with the heading First Friday (meant to advertise First Friday of the month mass in the dorm chapel), and chose their name in order to capitalize on the "free" promotional materials.They recorded an album self-titled "First Friday" in 1969 on Websters Last Word Records, with only 500 vinyl discs released. A copy of that album recently sold on eBay for over $400.In 1970 First Friday recorded another album in Nashville for King Records which was never released (The Lost Tapes). In 1997 they recorded a third album in Branchville, NJ which was never released (The Lost CD.
First Friday assembles once a year at various locations around the country to play for longtime fans and newly introduced locals, as part of their Too Much Fun Tour.
