Royal history up for sale

The fairytale attire of a princess goes up for sale.

One of Princess Diana's most romantic and ornate gowns is up for auction in London.

Diana bought the dress, designed by one of her favorite designers -- the Emanuels, in 1986 at a Red Cross auction.

More than 25 years later auctioneer Kerry Taylor says, the dress is expected to fetch between 50,000 and 80,000 pounds (81,000 and 130,000 US dollars).

SOUNDBITE: Kerry Taylor, Kerry Taylor Auctions, saying (English):

"It's a very flamboyant, very showy dress. . . but it is also I think the kind of dress a little girl, if she was thinking about what a princess would wear and she was to sit down and draw it, it would look like this dress. It is very fairytale, very dreamy, very sweet."

Another interesting royal lot at the upcoming "Fine haute couture, antique costume and accessories" auction is a pair of hair bellows.

The tiny instrument was used for powdering the wigs of George III.
