EU finance ministers say Spain and Italy could put euro at risk

    by PressTV

Eurozone finance ministers met in Brussels to scrutinize each other's draft budgets for next year to see if they comply with agreed measures to reduce government spending and national debt. It was the first time such a meeting has taken place since EU laws were introduced which are designed to make budgets more transparent and easier to spot if a country is mismanaging its economy. The ministers agreed that Spain, Italy, Malta, Finland and Luxembourg must make changes to their budgets to avoid throwing the euro currency into a deeper crisis.
